Isle of Man Festivals 2026
Join hundreds of bowlers from across the UK for one of the sport’s most exciting events.
The Isle of Man Bowling Festivals offer five days of top-class competition, a friendly atmosphere,
and stunning coastal surroundings.
Famous for its rolling countryside, coastal views and friendly welcome, the Isle of Man is a destination that blends relaxation, heritage and a touch of adventure. While the island is well known for its motorsport excitement — from the SMCC Manxduro to the Tough Mann Adventure Challenge — it’s also home to a variety of more relaxed yet equally cherished events throughout the year.
Among the highlights are the Crown Green Bowling Festivals, held each June and September. Bowling has long been part of island life, attracting both local clubs and visiting teams from across the UK.
First played in 1921, the festival’s format is a firm favourite among bowlers. Even if results don’t go your way, you’ll still enjoy four out of five days of play, ensuring every participant makes the most of their time on the greens.
When the bowls are packed away for the day, the island offers plenty to explore — from the historic Steam Railway, running from Port Erin to Douglas, to the scenic walks and heritage sites dotted across the landscape. It’s the perfect blend of sport, leisure, and discovery.

Each year, hundreds of bowlers from across the UK and beyond make their way to the Isle of Man for one of the sport’s most anticipated fixtures — the June Crown Green Bowling Festival.
Taking place from 15–19 June 2025, the festival promises five thrilling days of competition as players compete for a £19,000 prize fund. Looking ahead, 2026 will mark a truly special milestone — the 105th anniversary of this long-running and much-loved event.
Festival Highlights
With men’s and women’s singles, pairs, tourism and consolation competitions, there’s something for everyone. The festival’s inclusive format means even if luck isn’t on your side, you’ll still play at least three out of four days, so every bowler enjoys plenty of time on the greens.
